OnePlus Pad Review: Premium Features at a Midrange Price Point

OnePlus Pad Review

The OnePlus Tab is a tablet that boasts impressive features and specifications, making it an attractive option for those in the market for a high-end device. This tablet was announced in February 2023 and was released on April 28, 2023. It is a Wi-Fi-only tablet, which means that it does not have cellular connectivity.

The tablet has a sleek and premium design, featuring a glass front and an aluminum frame. It is incredibly thin, measuring only 6.5mm in thickness, and weighs 552g, making it comfortable to hold for extended periods. The tablet also comes with stylus support, allowing users to take notes, draw, or navigate the device with more precision.

The OnePlus Tab features an 11.61-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 2000 x 2800 pixels, offering excellent visuals with a density of 296 PPI. It also boasts Dolby Vision and a high refresh rate of 144Hz, making scrolling and navigating through the device smooth and responsive. The display covers approximately 84.2% of the front of the tablet, providing users with a spacious and immersive screen.

Under the hood, the tablet runs on the latest Android 13, OxygenOS 13.1, and is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 (4 nm) chipset. It features an Octa-core processor with 1×3.05 GHz Cortex-X2 & 3×2.85 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510, and a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. The OnePlus Tab comes in two variants: 128GB 8GB RAM and 256GB 12GB RAM. It uses UFS 3.1 technology, which allows for faster data transfer rates and overall device performance.

The tablet features a single 13MP rear camera with LED flash and can capture 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p at 30fps with gyro-EIS. It also has an 8MP front-facing camera that can record 1080p videos at 30fps. The tablet comes with a stereo speaker setup, which comprises four speakers that deliver clear and immersive audio.

The OnePlus Tab does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it comes with a USB Type-C 2.0 port that supports OTG and an accessory connector. It has an accelerometer, gyro, compass, and color spectrum sensors.

The tablet is powered by a non-removable 9510 mAh battery and supports 67W wired charging, allowing it to charge quickly. It comes in a unique Halo Green color and is priced competitively at about 500 EUR.

  • Advantages:

The device boasts a high-resolution screen with fast response times and a sleek design that feels great to hold.

  • Disadvantages:

The pre-installed applications are not as extensive as those on Apple or Samsung devices, and the tablet lacks advanced multitasking capabilities. Additionally, the narrow bezels can cause accidental touches, and the keyboard and stylus may not meet some users’ expectations.

Overall, the OnePlus Tab is a high-quality tablet that delivers excellent performance, features, and specifications, making it an ideal option for those looking for a tablet with a premium feel at a reasonable price.
